Johnny's first relationship after Ali was with a person who bulldozed over Johnny's consent and pressured him into sex when he wasn't into it and convinced him that if his body was reacting that he 'wanted it'.

He was made to believe that it's his job to please his partner sexually regardless of his own desires. He's kept that mindset over the years, never having been with anyone who cared enough to notice

Daniel realizes how sometimes Johnny is less than enthusiastic during sex and one night asks if he wants to keep going - he's horrified when Johnny just responds that it doesn't matter what he wants, only want Daniel wants

Daniel struggles with feeling like he sexually abused Johnny and thinks they should break it off, causing them both misery.
