Daniel is alone, clearly in a TON of pain and drowning his sorrows. He and Johnny get talking. He says he can't stand the raw grief, that it hurts too much. He asks Johnny if he has any drugs, anything to take the edge off, to distract him.

Yes omg... I can just imagine how INTENSE this fill would be. The amount of distraction that Daniel would need to not even think of Miyagi. Like... I love the during, but the potential ANGST of what happens after. Like, how it's a temporary fill (literally) and I could see it going so many ways if it goes beyond just the night. Daniel feeling really bad and super regretting it or becoming obsessed with Johnny because of the comfort he felt.
