So back when Daniel kicked Robby out the show made it clear he was badly triggered by the idea that he was being conned or manipulated. ("Is this a sick mind game?")

This makes perfect sense given the gasslighting by Silver, Kreese and Barnes when he was a teenager. Literally warping his reality.

The prompt is, this trauma still haunts him. No matter how close he gets to people he still, deep down, doesn't know if its 100% real or not. Can't trust it. Is it real love on or an elaborate prank...Is it real sex or is he being used?

He's never sure.
