Tory’s Mother dies.

She's devastated. CPS wants to take her brother from her, the creepy landlord is trying to evict her, she gets fired. A lifetime of trauma catches up with her and she has a nervous breakdown. She's suicidal and barely functional.

John Kreese remembers losing his own mother to suicide and the terrible depression that hit him afterwards. Something deep inside him that he forgot was there stirs to life again... Empathy? Mercy even?

Terry Silver would do anything for John, has more money than God and no real purpose.

They take in Tory and her brother.

Can the Karate psychos learn to parent two grief stricken kids?

I just really need to see Johnny getting taken care of after he ignores a serious medical issue for too long. (No deathfic tho, pls.) Maybe he's been in pain- kidney infection, internal injury after a fight, ongoing medical problem like a hernia or some kind of autoimmune disease. He ignores it because he doesn't have health insurance, the money to deal with it, because men don't get sick or whatever Johnny reason you want. He collapses, either in front of people or when he's alone so someone has to come looking for him. Daniel (or Daniel & Amanda?) take care of him and make sure he gets the care he needs. Could be a new relationship (or even friendship) or established. If established, bonus points galore for Johnny not tell them because he didn't want to seem less desirable/like a burden?

Post S3 and Terry Silver is back and wreaking havok on Daniel's psyche.

Daniel does some digging into Silver's past, hoping to find something to use against him.

What he finds are Twig's military and medical records of his capture and torture by the Viet Cong and other nightmarish wartime experiences that eventually put him in a psychiatric unit of the military hospital.

He finds photos of a catatonic, mute 18 year old who's personality was totally warped by the war.

He wasn't always evil...

Maybe...He realises the only way to fight Terry's evil nature is to heal him?

The plan was simple. All Robby had to do was make sure his dad arrived at the dojo by 7 PM. Robby told Johnny he wanted to go out for dinner, work on their issues, and spend some time together. He said he was ready to try to put the past behind them, and his dad was so happy that he agreed without a second thought.

They wouldn't be going out for dinner, working on their issues, or spending any quality time together though. Because Robby's job was simple, and it was to deliver his father to the waiting arms of Kreese. Robby doesn't know what Kreese's plans are after his part is finished, and Robby will wish he had never agreed to the plan in the first place. Because Robby will never see his father again. Johnny will die that night, just trying to make amends with his son, not for even a second believing his son could be sending him into a trap.

Only Robby isn't picking up the phone, and isn't picking up the phone, and eventually Daniel has to resort to telling him over text. Robby learns what happened...what he's done...in this cold, clinical way that feels like it can't be REAL

(And, on a much darker note...I can't help but think that Kreese didn't kill Johnny quickly)

Miguel time-travels back to the summer of 1984, three months before Daniel comes to town. He befriends teen Johnny and joins the original Cobra Kai, which he’s initially super jazzed about!! becoming a part of his cool sensei’s cool origin story!! But it soon becomes clear that his cool sensei’s origin story is... actually very sad—why didn’t he ever tell Miguel about his stepdad? Whoa, Kreese seems like even more of a jerk in 1984?? Actually this is a terrible way to grow up???

Eventually it becomes clear that for [waves hands] reasons, in order to get back to his own time, Miguel has to fix Johnny’s past so that he can become a more functional adult, Back-to-the-Future stylez. First he thinks the solution is to prevent Ali from breaking up with him (a prospect he... increasingly dislikes, for reasons he doesn’t understand; teen Johnny is increasingly separate from his sensei in his mind, and also, uh, real handsome); then he discovers that isn’t it, and figures it must be preventing Daniel from doing his crane kick? Eventually it turns out that it is preventing Johnny from starting the fight over the radio in the first place. Miguel will just have to think of some way to distract him from trying to get Ali back...
