Daniel and Johnny, who are not dating, absently end a phone conversation with "Bye, love you" and "Love you too" when they're tired and then proceed to laugh it off and make it a bit that they do. Unfortunately, they both are dumbasses who didn't think this through and are now pining after each other while giving each other goodbye kisses and saying they love each other "as a joke"

Yay, OP here and I'm delighted you're interested! No deadline, work away at your own pace. You can post parts as you go or post it all at once when you're done. A lot of people are cross-posting to ao3, but that's optional.
