So apparently the writers were playing around with the idea of Daniel and Kumiko having an affair in Okinawa during season 3. Glad they didn't do it because it's kind of out of character for Daniel, but they had so much chemistry! I'm really curious to see what an affair between them would like, so I would love it if someone could write it!

Could be angsty because, you know, cheating, or could just be smut.

Different writers. But I agree, Kumiko/Daniel would have been the best pairing.
