I feel like people sometimes forget that a huge motivator for both Kreese and Silver is that they're both massively fuckoff racist.

For this reason alone I think they'd target Miguel. Their attitude also starts influencing some of their students.

Maybe Kyler leaves the Dojo and they go looking for a new minority to pick on. I dunno... One way or another they start messing with him and before long Miguel is the target of racist abuse by Cobra Kai.

Anyway Miguel is unusually demoralised and angry and Johnny and Daniel find out why.

Like many traditionalist Sensies, Silver believes in physical correction when his students screw up.

Nothing extreme, just a little slap or pinch to the thigh or butt or arm to correct posture or punish a stupid mistake. Most students are used to it.

But Daniel reacts to this with tears in his eyes, blushing and profuse apologies. He becomes desperately ashamed and weepy when he's smacked. Swallowing down tears as he tries to do better.

The more he's 'corrected' the more flustered he gets and the more he fucks up, creating a vicious cycle.

Terry gets off on humiliation and decides to have fun with it.
He regularly works Daniel into a state of hysteria and deliberately triggers panic attacks.

When Daniel is training with Miyagi again the old man sees Daniel flinch and has to teach him that it's OK to make mistakes.

The kids at the dojo all know that Johnny loves music and that he'll often use it to chill out when he's stressed. They find out (through Miguel) about Johnny's Walkman that doesn't work anymore and they decide to pool their money to buy him a nice new set of headphones and teach him how to use spotify. Maybe they help him make different playlists for the different things he might use it for (like working out, or a playlist of calming songs for when he's overwhelmed).

Maybe Daniel pitches in because now that he knows Johnny better, he feels bad about the water-on-the-head incident that may or may not have been what broke the Walkman in the first place.

Okay stop, I swear you read my mind because I’ve been toying around with almost this exact idea for a week now lol. I haven’t actually written anything yet but I’ve been thinking about this scenario pretty much nonstop. My idea was slightly more Lawrusso-centric, with Daniel being the one who buys it for him, but nearly the same. I’m definitely going to try to write it at some point—I’m not sure when just yet, so if someone else is inspired, feel free to go ahead! I’m just so excited to see someone else had the same idea! ;)

OK I'm planning to post the first part tonight! I'm not all the way done writing all parts yet, but I have enough done that I think we're good to go. Woohoo!

Ponyboy Curtis and Johnny Cade got on the train and went through a wormhole or whatever...

Two highly traumatised 1950s hoodlums are transported to San Fernando Valley 2019 and end up in Foster care.

They also join a Karate class.

Back in his childhood, before he went to Vietnam, Terry had been a Soc...and also secretly friends with Johnny, but the events of The Outsiders happened, which drove them apart...and then Johnny died of his injuries before Terry could see him at the hospital. Terry still has lingering trauma over it.

Cut to KK3, and Kreese gets Terry to help him get revenge on Daniel...and he's blindsided by how much Daniel looks like Johnny. He's torn between his loyalty to Kreese and his guilt/trauma/affection for Johnny, which he's starting to transfer to Daniel.

Meanwhile, Daniel starts having recurring dreams about fire and fighting and a boy that looks an awfully lot like a young Terry, and starts getting memories he shouldn't have had...

And then one day Daniel says something only Johnny should know and it clicks for both of them. Daniel IS Johnny, who got a second chance at life after sacrificing his first.

What will he and Terry do now?
